Sending Girls to School for Equal Opportunity in Education

Access to education in Africa is very limited. For example, in Ethiopia, 63% of students in lower primary schools are not achieving the basic learning outcomes needed to succeed higher up the education ladder due to scarcity of resources and other barriers such as long distance to school and less number of girls enrolled.

To provide children with access to quality education, basic needs of resources must be met. Many individuals from different parts of the world are now getting involved with helping these kids by providing them school supplies that would ease the hardship the children face to go to school. As many parents cannot afford to get the resources for all of their children, mostly boys happen to be sent to schools.

Donations as low as $20 helps one girl to join her brothers go to school with all the required school essentials. Books Ethiopia Foundation is one of the few not-for-profits that supports vulnerable children, specially girls go to school every year.
